What is INP-HB ALUMNI?
The INP-HB ALUMNI network is the federation of alumni associations from the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) and the former “grandes écoles de Yamoussoukro”, whose merger led to the creation of the INP-HB in 1996. It includes:
· The former Institut National Supérieur de l’Enseignement Technique (INSET) ;
· The former Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Travaux Publics (ENSTP) ;
· The former Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Agronomie (ENSA) ;
· The former Institut Agricole de Bouaké (IAB).
Today, INP-HB ALUMNI is the official body that brings together all the alumni of the different schools and programs, representing them vis-à-vis the governing bodies of INP-HB. It is a non-profit and apolitical organization.
When was this network created?
The network was created on November 18, 2023 during a founding general meeting held at INP-HB in Yamoussoukro. However, the official launch date of our activities was September 24, 2024.
Who can be a member of INP-HB ALUMNI and how to join the network?
I would like to clarify again that the members of the network are associations and not individuals applying for membership. These associations are established entities that adhere to the network.
Therefore, any alumni association from a training program, a department, or a school linked to INP-HB and acknowledged by its management can become a member of the INP-HB ALUMNI network, provided they comply with the affiliation procedures of the network.
Associations interested in joining us should contact the permanent secretariat of the network to learn about the membership procedure.
What are the current members of the network?
As of today, eighteen (18) associations are affiliated with the network.
o Ten (10) associations from the Commerce and Administration sector:
o Four (4) associations from the Industrial and Digital sector:
o One (1) association from the Agronomy sector:
· AE2ITA (Association of students and graduates Engineers in Agriculture)
o Two (2) associations from the Civil engineering, Mining & Geology sector:
o One (1) association from the diaspora:
Can you share the vision, mission and values of the network?
Our ambition is to make INP-HB ALUMNI a network of excellence and expertise, serving as an accelerator of opportunities for individuals – specifically our graduates - and a major development player, both nationally and internationally.
Our mission is to contribute more actively to the advancement of INP-HB and its reputation beyond our borders; to promote the exceptional human capital trained at the Institute; to ensure the quality and relevance of curricula and support the employability of future graduates; to facilitate friendly and professional interactions among alumni; and finally, to create opportunities for graduates and support their innovative initiatives.
To achieve this, the network relies on strong values, namely:
· Unity in Diversity: This value reflects the richness of our diverse origins and various professional fields, emphasizing that we draw strength from one another. We aim to unite our efforts for a more impactful synergy of actions.
· Excellence in Our Expertise: We extend our shared academic experience beyond the classroom while continuing to promote, across our different areas of expertise, the values of excellence instilled in us during our studies at INP-HB.
· Leadership to Make an Impact: We are called to be leaders wherever we operate, with the aim of contributing to sustainable change in the lives of individuals and society.
What is the governance model of the network?
INP-HB ALUMNI is an organization with a board of directors.
Like any association, we have the supreme body, which is the General Assembly of members. This General Assembly is composed of three (3) representatives from each member association.
Next, we have the Board of Directors, which consists of all current presidents of member associations. Additionally, the Managing Director of INP-HB is part of the Board of Directors. The Bureau of the Board of Directors, composed of seven (7) members, manages the day-to-day affairs of the network: the Chairperson, four (4) Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer and a Deputy Treasurer, all appointed by the Chairperson.
Staff members of INP-HB provide the Permanent Secretariat for the network.
Independent and professional auditors are responsible for auditing the association’s financial statements.
Finally, Technical Committees may be established at the discretion of the Chairperson to address specific issues.
How to join the network
Associations wishing to join the network can contact our Permanent Secretariat to first verify if they meet the criteria to become members. The membership procedure and the required documentation will be communicated to them. Afterwards, they will submit an application. The Board of Directors decides on affiliations.
Where is the headquarters INP-HB ALUMNI located?
The headquarters is based in Yamoussoukro within the INP-HB premises. However, a welcome desk is being opened in Abidjan at a branch of INP-HB located in Riviera 4 Beverly Hills.
How to stay informed about news related to the network?
The best way to stay updated on the network's activities is to follow us through our official communication channels, particularly on our social media platforms, or to subscribe to our mailing list.
Additionally, if you are part of one of the member associations, you may join your association's platforms, where information about the network is regularly shared.
What would be your closing remarks?
I would like to invite all graduates of the Institute to take a closer interest in the life of the institution that shaped their professional life and to engage more deeply at various levels and in diverse initiatives. The environment at INP-HB has become very dynamic and promising in recent years.
If you allow me, I would like to take this opportunity to extend to all alumni, both from the former “grandes écoles de Yamoussoukro” as well and from INP-HB, across all generations, all schools, all training programs and fields, to the key event dedicated to alumni each year: the Alumni Day, which will hold its third edition on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Yamoussoukro.
This is an event not to be missed!
It is an opportunity for the entire Polytech community to return to their schools, reconnect, immerse themselves in the latest developments at INP-HB, and contribute to achieving the strategic objectives of the Institute.
The invitation extends not only to graduates residing in the country but also to those from the diaspora. I count on every one to answer this call positively.
In conclusion, I would like to thank the editorial team of RH MAG for the opportunity to present the INP-HB ALUMNI Network to its readers.
